Dear Frankie,
Here you are in thick snow in the Cotswolds.
You were 2 years old in this picture, look at your little body, all snug in your winter warmers.
I’d booked a holiday home for us to hang out together in for a week. Just ‘me and us.’ We had so much snow falling each day so spent most of our time together indoors or out in the front garden building snowmen together, your little nose was bright pink.
As you approach the beginning of your teenage years in 2023, I would like us to reminisce over the last decade and remember some of our most monumental times.
I was a very new Mum in 2012 and you were teaching me so much on a daily basis.
I learned from early on in our relationship that the very best thing I could give you was my time.
I’ve always loved hanging out with you, you’re lovely company, you really are.
Being matched by strangers was only the beginning, it was up to us to get to know one another and build a close bond.
The bond we have is my favourite bit of parenting, it’s what makes all the challenging parts worth while.
I remember running us a hot bubble bath when we came in from playing in the snow that day and we’d top and tail, playing with your squirty bath toys together.
Far too big to come in the bath with me now of course but that doesn’t mean we can’t float around together in hot tubs and swimming pools.
As you know, my letters to you here on Facebook are printed into journals with photos to help tell our story, so it will be nice to go back in time this year and share some of our most wonderful adventures together.
Let’s continue to make the most amazing memories my Love as we venture into this awesome new year.
Forever yours,
Mum x
